It's hard to believe that this is the last Access Alum event of the Fall 2014 semester! Dr. Sue Abreu will be on campus the week following Thanksgiving break.
Sue is an engineer, physician, and attorney who has focused on medical and organizational quality throughout her career. Dr. Abreu continued her education at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (M.D.) and then specialized in nuclear medicine. During her 24-year career in the U.S. Army, she served in many leadership positions, rising to the rank of colonel and serving as the nuclear medicine consultant to the Army Surgeon General. She has continued her work in organizational management and quality as a consultant to a variety of corporations. She is active in multiple professional organizations including serving as president of the American College of Nuclear Physicians and of the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission’s Nuclear/PET division for whom Dr. Abreu is also an application reviewer. In 2006 she served as an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Program. Dr. Abreu received her J.D. in May 2011 from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. She holds medical licenses in Oklahoma and North Carolina and was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in 2011.
Dr. Abreu looks forward to meeting students at all levels and from all engineering disciplines. She welcomes discussion on all topics, including work-life balance, her professional career, her student experience, etc. Come dressed as you are and drop in anytime you like to meet her.
