Jenell Fairman: CORE Planning Strategies, LLC

Our next Access Alum will feature Jenell Fairman! 

Jenell (BSCE Purdue) will be networking and is open to talk to BS/MS/PhD students of all engineering disciplines. She is accepting resumes (especially in Civil, Architectural, and Mechanical engineering disciplines.

Jenell is a licensed Professional Engineer and LEED Accredited Professional with experience in the design and construction administration of vertical structures. As a project manager, she leads with focus on constructability, sustainability, and clear communication between parties.  

Extensive experience in structural engineering, transportation engineering, traffic engineering, bridge design and detailing, building information modeling (BIM), integrated project delivery have enhanced her current role in project management and program management.  Her areas of expertise in the design and construction industry are seismic design, mixed use developments, sustainable structures and complicated architectural structures.  Her past experience includes Carmel City Center, Ironworks, Vincennes University Technology Building, Indianapolis Fire Department No. 5, Archdiocese of Los Angeles cemetery structures and numerous educational and industrial institutions.

Jenell’s current role at CORE Planning Strategies involves program management for the implementation of the Comprehensive Energy Master Plan at Purdue University.  CORE was founded in 2012, and provides consulting services in the design and construction industry. 

While a student at Purdue University she participated in the Cooperative Education program with HNTB in Chicago, Illinois.  She was also active in the Purdue All American Marching Band, Concert Band, Latin Percussion Ensemble, Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, Women in Engineering Mentor-Mentee Program, ASCE, SWE and Chi Epsilon.

Jenell and her family reside in Carmel, Indiana.  She is an active member of the community through Indiana Structural Engineers Association, IndyCREW, P.E.O., her church and local schools.  She has been published in the American Concrete Institute publication, SCG1: The Sustainable Concrete Guide - Strategies and Examples, 2010.  Jenell was named a Finalist for the Junior Achievement “Best and Brightest” in 2013 and 2014.  College Mentors honored Jenell in 2015 with the Inspire Award for her role in mentoring in the engineering and technology fields.
